From Gulfstream Park
Ron Nicoletti, longtime South Florida racing personality and Gulfstream Park handicapper during its live meet since 1990, will join the Florida track on a full-time basis, taking the position of media manager.
“I’m looking forward to my role here with great anticipation,” said Nicoletti. “I’ll help create and manage handicapping contests, which we expect to have frequently through the summer and fall. I’ll be on hand to help answer questions from our guests, and we’ll also put together seminars on the bigger race days, such as the Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup days. When I’m not on the property, I’ll be out in the community acting as an ‘emissary’ for this great facility and this great sport.
“I’m fortunate to be associated with quality racing people such as Bill Murphy (Gulfstream president and general manager),” Nicoletti continued. “This is a great sport and it’s meant to be fun--for both newcomers and veteran railbirds--and that’s what we will be promoting at Gulfstream Park.”
“Ron embodies the great fun this sport provides for our guests,” said Murphy. “Through the years, he has been a terrific ambassador for the sport in general and Gulfstream Park in particular. We look forward to a great summer.”
