Edited Press Release

General admission tickets for Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) and the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) are now available for advanced purchase through Ticketmaster. The tickets will be available for purchase at all Ticketmaster locations, by phone, or online at www.ticketmaster.com.

The Kentucky Derby will take place May 3, while the Kentucky Oaks will be held May 2.

Tickets for the Kentucky Derby will be sold for $40 and Kentucky Oaks tickets for $25. The general admission tickets provide the same access that patrons may enjoy by purchasing admission on the morning of the Kentucky Derby or Kentucky Oaks, which includes first-level access to the public areas behind the grandstand and clubhouse, as well as infield access. There is no service fee on orders placed through Ticketmaster, but a postage charge will be applied to each order.

“We're excited about this new partnership with Ticketmaster, and we hope the ability to purchase general admission tickets in advance of the Kentucky Derby and the Kentucky Oaks will help race fans around the country understand just how easy it is to attend the biggest day in U.S. horse racing,” said Brent Alexander, senior director of marketing for Churchill Downs. “Although reserved seating is sold out, general admission is affordable and plentiful. It allows for a great day at the racetrack, whether you're in the infield enjoying the party, watching the horses in the paddock, or enjoying the Churchill Downs gardens and checking out the action from our simulcasting center.”

A limited number of tickets for the Marquee Village, which includes hospitality and a seat in the first floor clubhouse, will also be sold online. The deadline for purchasing tickets through Ticketmaster is April 30. General admission will remain available at Churchill Downs gates on Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby Days.
