Recapturetheglory, a potential contender for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I), worked five furlongs at Churchill Downs April 17.
The Illinois Derby (gr. II) winner, trained by Louis Roussel, went the distance in 1:01 under assistant trainer Lara Van Deren. Recapturetheglory is owned by Rousel and Ronnie Lamarque.

A son of Cherokee Run bred in Kentucky by Charles Jacobi out of the Dehere mare Cold Awakening, Recapturetheglory won the Illinois Derby by four lengths last time out at Hawthorne Race Course April 12. The race was his first graded stakes event and his first win since a maiden score at Hawthorne last September.
