A Stormin Fever filly and a Yes It's True colt were among the standouts Tuesday during the first session of the under tack show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. spring sale of 2-year-olds in training in Central Florida. They each posted the fastest time for an eighth of a mile, covering the distance in :10.
Consigned by Becky Thomas’ Sequel Bloodstock, agent, the bay Stormin Fever filly is out of the 17-year-stakes-placed Taylor’s Special mare First Class Donna, who won twice. She is the dam of The Church Lady, a winner and the producer of the stakes-placed winner Codio (by Doneraile Court). Other family members include stakes winners Charlie You Know and Rockabye Joshua.
The Yes It’s True colt is out of the 7-year-old stakes-winning Forestry mare Frenchglen, who is from the family of stakes winners May Night, Sangam, and Buzzing B’s. The bay juvenile is consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, agent.
The fastest worker at a quarter-mile was Triple Honor, with a clocking of :21. Consigned by Blue River Bloodstock, agent, the dark bay or brown son of Double Honor is out of the 13-year-old winning Honor Grades mare Cool Grades. She is from the family of grade II winner Forty One Carats and grade III winner American Spirit.
Ms Drama Queen, a dark bay or brown daughter of Valid Expectations, was the quickest at three-quarters of a mile, turning in a time of :33 4/5. Her dam, the 7-year-old winning Souvenir Copy mare Copy Queen, is from the family of Canadian champions Gentleman Conn and Perfect Soul. Ms Drama Queen is consigned by Sescan, agent.
The first session of the under tack show was for Hip Nos. 1-346 in the spring auction’s catalog. Another session, for Hips Nos. 347-690 will be held Wednesday, beginning at 9 a.m. (EDT). Sessions are also scheduled for Thursday (Hip Nos. 691-1036) and Friday (Hip Nos. 1037-1381) at the same time.
The spring sale is scheduled for April 21-24.
