Baze Bags Five Wins at Bay Meadows

Jockey Russell Baze won five races at Bay Meadows April 3.

All five of Baze's winners were heavy favorites in the wagering. The Hall of Fame rider took the first race with Feisty Baby (who paid $4), the second with Grecian Devil ($2.40), the third with My Maloof Rocker ($3.20), the fourth with Desert Sea ($4.60), and the sixth with Only One Way ($3.60).

The $2 Baze Daily Double on races one and two paid $5.20. The $1 Baze Pick Three (covering races one through three) returned $4 while the $1 Baze Pick Four (races one through four) paid $12.10.

Baze finished the day 5-for-7. He was sixth aboard Dream On Desperado in the seventh race and fourth aboard Hassel Back in the eighth. Baze tops the Bay Meadows jockey standings with 75 victories.
