Sam Gordon was elected to a fourth term as president of the Florida Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association at the organization’s regularly scheduled March 31 board meeting.
Vice presidents for the Florida HBPA are Phil Combest, Mike Nyman, and Marty Wolfson. John Penn was appointed secretary and Barry Rose treasurer.
The election was held March 15. Re-elected to the 15-member board of directors were owners Gordon and Herb Elkins, and trainers Wolfson and Tim Ritvo. Elected at large to the board was Richard Root. The trainer alternate is Larry Pilotti, and owner alternates are Penn and Peter Gordman.
The Florida HBPA elects five individuals to the board every year who serve a three-year term.
