David Frizzell of Pendleton, Ind., was named racing secretary for the second race meet at Presque Isle Downs & Casino near Erie, Pa.

Frizzell comes to Presque Isle Downs as a fourth-generation horseman with more than 24 years experience as a racing official. Frizzell joins the Presque Isle team from Indiana Downs, and has an extensive racing background at racetracks across the Midwest, from racing secretary at Remington Park to general manager at Eureka Downs in Kansas.

“We are pleased to have such a knowledgeable individual to add to our team at Presque Isle,” said Richard Knight, president and chief executive officer of the track. “His enthusiasm and passion for the racing industry will help continue to bring success to our racing program during our first full live racing meet.”

With less than one month before the horses begin arriving at Presque Isle, Frizzell is preparing for the 100 live racing days which run from May 9-Sept. 27 with a 5:30 p.m. EDT post time.

“I’m looking forward to working with all the horsemen in Pennsylvania and across the United States, and I anticipate a very successful meet at Presque Isle Downs,” Frizzell said.

Presque Isle, which has slot machines, opened last year for its inaugural 25-day meet.
