The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association announced March 27 its 2008 National Awards Dinner will be held at the Lexington Convention Center in Lexington Sept. 6.
The TOBA Awards Dinner honors the achievements of Thoroughbred owners in the four major North American racing regions and breeders in 26 states. Also honored at the dinner are the breeders and owners of the year, recipient of the Industry Service Award, and new owner of the year.
“The TOBA National Awards Dinner is a special event that recognizes outstanding achievement in our sport,” said Dan Metzger, president of TOBA. “The spotlight of the evening will be on the national and regional award winners and we look forward to another successful evening.”
Entertainment for the evening will be announced at a later date. Past performers at the annual event have included Aretha Franklin, Uncle Kracker, Three Dog Night, Sawyer Brown, Clint Black, Blood Sweat & Tears, Alison Krauss & Union Station, and Ray Charles.
