Sweeter Still, two-for-two in 2008, is scheduled to make her next start in Santa Anita’s Providencia Stakes (gr. IIIT) April 5. The 3-year-old Irish-bred daughter of Rock of Gibraltar–Beltisaal, by Belmez, won a maiden sprint on the turf at Santa Anita Jan. 18, then took the China Doll Stakes on the same grass course March 1 for trainer Jeff Mullins.
“I thought her last race was awesome,” Mullins said. “She came out of it really good, too. She is kind of a cool little filly. She not very big, but she just doesn’t know it. She thinks she’s 10 feet tall and bulletproof.”
David J. Lanzman Racing Stable and Jason Wood own Sweeter Still.
