From the Maryland Horse Breeders Association
Heros Reward was named 2007 Maryland-bred Horse of the Year, as well as champion older male, sprinter, and turf runner, in the annual poll conducted by the Maryland Horse Breeders Association.
Bred by Gretchen Mobberley at her Summer Hill Farm in West Friendship, Md., Heros Reward, a gelded son of Partner’s Hero—Lifes Passage, by Caveat, is owned by Robert Haynes and Jayne Marie Slysz.
In 12 consecutive turf sprints beginning in October 2006, Heros Reward registered a half-dozen wins, five seconds, and only one off-the-board finish. He scored his big victories last year’s Baltimore City Turf Sprint and the Nearctic Stakes (Can-IIT) at Woodbine. He has earned $543,616.
