Hiles Named to KY Equine Council

Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed Rick Hiles as a member of the Kentucky Equine Drug Research Council, it was announced Feb. 23. 

Hiles, who will represent the Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association, is a horse owner and trainer. He served as a sergeant in the United States Air Force, and currently resides with his wife, Gina, in Louisville.

Hiles replaces Susan Bunning, who has resigned. The appointment will serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Aug. 1, 2008.

The Kentucky Equine Drug Research Council consists of nine members appointed by the governor and is to advise the authority on the conduct of equine drug research and testing commissioned by the Kentucky Horse Racing Authority.
