HorseRacing TV began showing races from Aqueduct Feb. 21 after being granted the non-exclusive rights to provide the New York Racing Association circuit to its viewers as the result of an agreement reached in late December.
HRTV was afforded the non-exclusive rights to broadcast races from NYRA racetracks --Aqueduct, Belmont Park, and Saratoga--prior to Jan. 1, and received clearance Feb. 21 from the New York State Racing and Wagering Board.
With the addition of NYRA to HRTV's expanding programming, the network will now offer a winter schedule that includes Santa Anita Park, Gulfstream Park, Aqueduct, Fair Grounds, and Oaklawn Park. Calder Race Course will join the HRTV fold in April. Churchill Downs and Arlington Park are major components of HRTV's summer schedule.
“We’re very pleased to receive final approval to show races from the outstanding New York Racing Association tracks,” said Amy Zimmerman, HRTV executive producer. “The addition of this great circuit further enhances HRTV as the horseracing industry’s television network.”
HRTV coverage of New York racing will include up-to-date odds, post parades, and analysis and handicapping strategies from its team of analysts and hosts.
