Winner Disqualified From Sportsman's Challenge

The board of directors of the High Hope Steeplechase has disqualified the winner Seignorial to last because he did not carry the assigned weight in The Blood-Horse Sportsman's Challenge.

A release from the group said Siegnorial, ridden by retired Hall of Fame jockey Julie Krone, "did not carry the full 165 pound impost required by the conditions of the race."

The board revised the official order of finish to reflect Unalienable Right, ridden by Philip McEntree, as the winner. Hoh Steamer was elevated to second and The Wild Irishman was placed third.

High Hope is a day of racing which benefits local charities. The annual event, held this year on May 20, raised money for the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation and Central Kentucky Riding for the Handicapped.

There is no purse money or pari-mutuel wagering on the High Hope races.
