Saeed Bin Suroor will be the new trainer of Happy Boy, following his purchase by Sheikh Hamdan. An easy winner of the Jan. 17 Maktoum Challenge I (UAE-III) on the first night of the 2008 Dubai International Racing Carnival, the Ski Champ colt will next be seen in the Maktoum Challenge III.

“Happy Boy will run in the colors of Sheikh Hamdan and is to join Saeed Bin Suroor at Al Quoz, where he will stay for the rest of the carnival," said Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford. "His next target is Maktoum Challenge III, and we will see how he performs there before making any further decisions.”

A group II winner on dirt in Brazil, as well as a group III winner on turf, Happy Boy won the mile feature on the first night of the carnival by nine lengths for owner Roberto Reichert and trainer Pedro Nickel Filho.
