The first reported foal sired by grade I turf winner Aragorn (IRE) is a colt foaled Jan. 14 at John T.L. Jones III and Robert Trussell's Walmac Farm near Lexington. Owned by Abbott Properties, the colt is out of Irish stakes-placed Geisha Girl, a producing daughter of Nashwan.
Aragorn (Giant's Causeway --Onaga, by Mr. Prospector) was one of the top turf runners in 2006. He captured four graded stakes, two of which were grade I, including the Eddie Read Handicap in course-record time. He also ran second in the NetJets Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT).
Aragorn stands at William S. Farish's Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky. His 2008 fee is $30,000.
