Albert the Great to Pin Oak Lane

Albert the Great  , sire of grade I winner Nobiz Like Shobiz, will stand at Dr. William Solomon's Pin Oak Lane Farm near New Freedom, Pa. His fee will be $4,000, down from $7,500 in 2007.

A son of Go for Gin, Albert the Great ranked 12th on the 2007 third-crop sires list, with progeny earnings of $2.85 million.

Nobiz Like Shobiz, who has career earnings of $1,544,730, scored his biggest win in the 2007 Wood Memorial Stakes (gr. I). He has won five other graded stakes.

Eleven-year-old Albert the Great also is the sire of two Puerto Rican grade I winners and four stakes-placed runners. His career progeny earnings are nearly $4.8 million.

Campaigned and still owned by Tracy Farmer, Albert the Great captured the 2000 Jockey Club Gold Cup (gr. I) in 1:59.24 at Belmont Park, the fastest 1 1/4 miles ever run by a 3-year-old in New York. He closed out his career with third-place finish in the 2001 Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I).

Albert the Great, one of three stakes winners from the stakes-placed Fappiano mare Bright Feather, formerly stood at Robert N. Clay's Three Chimneys Farm near Midway, Ky.
