King Cugat, a son of Kingmambo, will stand at Liberty Stud near Ghent, N.Y., under the management of Questroyal Stud. His fee is $3,500.
King Cugat, who has stood in both the U.S. and Australia, has sired eight stakes winners, including 2007 Australian group I winner Devil Moon. His top North American runners include Kingship, winner of the 2006 Arlington Classic (gr. IIIT).
Eleven-year-old King Cugat has sired the career earners of $4.9 million. His 2007 progeny earnings as a third-crop stallion were $1.3 million.
King Cugat, who formerly was based in North America at William S. Farish's Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky., won four graded turf stakes and earned $1,293,782. His dam, the Majestic Light mare Tricky Game, is a half-sister to major sire Seeking the Gold.
