Santa Anita Spices Up Pick Six
Beginning with it's Dec. 26 opening day, Santa Anita’s Pick Six wager will offer bettors the possibility of winning a brand-new Chevrolet Corvette. This special Corvette prize, provided by Sierra Auto Cars in Monrovia, will be awarded to the first two people with a single winning ticket purchased on-track during the upcoming winter/spring meet. “We are thrilled to be able to offer this to our on-track fans,” Santa Anita Vice President of Marketing Allen Gutterman said. “This is a great enticement for people to play on-track. If someone has the Pick Six all alone, they’re going to be handed a set of keys and a full tank of gas. It’s exciting.” The Pick Six, which is conducted on the final six races each racing day, is a $2 minimum wager and requires the winner to correctly select the winning horse in all six races. Sierra Auto Cars, which is owned by prominent horse owner Lathrop Hoffman, is a long-time supporter of Santa Anita. “Without Sierra and the confidence they have in us, this package could not have been finalized,” said Gutterman. “To be able to offer our fans a vehicle of this magnitude is tremendous and we want to thank Sierra’s president Peter Hoffman and their general manager Tom Masucci for making this happen.” Santa Anita’s 85-day winter/spring meet will run through April 20. Aside from the first two weeks, Santa Anita will run on a Thursday through Monday basis.
