Tough Game to Stand in California Tough Game, an earner of $300,330, has been retired from racing for stallion duty at West 12 Ranch near Lodi, Calif. The 8-year old son of Mr. Greeley will stand for a fee of $1,500. A $270,000 Fasig-Tipton July yearling in 2000, Tough Game was claimed three times while running exclusively on the California circuit. Racing from ages 3 to 8, he was last owned by Stewball Stable. Tough Game, who equaled the Hollywood Park track record of 1:07.52 for six furlongs as a 4-year-old, finished his campaign with a record of 10-6-3 from 27 starts. Bred in New York by Dennis Petrisak and Deborah Petrisak, Tough Game is out of the stakes winning Explodent mare Explosive Scarlet. He is a half-brother to stakes winner Sweet Baby James (by Housebuster) and stakes-placed R. Little Redhead (by Prized).
