The Belmont Child Care Association has received a donation of $300,0000 from Roy and Gretchen Jackson, owners of the late 2006 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Barbaro.

Of the $300,000, $250,000 is for the Lael Stable fund, earnings from which will be used to provide early childhood education at the on-site child care center, Anna House, at Belmont Park for the working families of New York racing.

The remaining $50,000 is for the association's general fund to be used as needed. The Jacksons started the fund in December 2006 and have invited others to donate toward the cause.
