Dixieland Heat, sire of Eclipse Award winner Xtra Heat, will stand at Joe and Sharon Kerby's Key Ranch near Salado, Texas. The 17-year-old son of Dixieland Bandwill stand for $2,000 for owners Leland and Sue Cook

A grade III winner, Dixieland Heat ranks sixth on this year's Texas sire's list, with progeny earnings of more than $750,000. He stood in 2007 at Q6 Ranch in Texas and originally was scheduled to stand in 2008 at the Cooks' Richland Ranch near Corsicana, Texas.

Xtra Heat, champion 3-year-old filly in 2001, won or placed in 33 of 35 races and earned $2,389,635. A grade I winner, she captured 25 stakes, 11 of which were graded.

Dixieland Heat 's other stakes winners include Canadian graded winner Heat It Up and seven-time stakes winner Coastalota. Dixieland Heat has career progeny earnings of $8.3 million.

Dixieland Heat is out of the Damascus mare Evening Silk.
