Robbie's Gal cruises in the Live Oak Georgia Debutante Stakes.
Robbies and Emmas Racing Stables’ two-year-old filly Robbie’s Gal just missed winning the $100,000 John Franks Juvenile Fillies Turf last month when she finished second by a neck behind Wise Cookie, but she returned to the Calder turf on Sunday to get her first stakes victory in the $75,000 Live Oak Georgia Debutante Stakes.

Ridden by Jose Lezcano, Robbie’s Gal crossed the finish line 1 ¾ lengths ahead of Nicole’s Song, but had to survive two jockeys’ claims of foul to get to the winner’s circle.

Manoel Cruz, aboard Wise Cookie (fifth), and Manuel Aguilar on Antonova (tenth) alleged interference on the far turn, but the stewards disallowed the claim and the results stood.  Okefenokee finished third.

Stephen DiMauro trains Robbie’s Gal, who has been off the board only once in seven starts and seems to have found a home on grass.  She covered the mile and sixteenth over firm turf in 1:44.71.

Robbie’s Gal paid $5.00, $3.60 and $2.80.  Nicole’s Song returned $16.00 and $8.60.
