Heavy snowfall and freezing rain in the Toronto area forced the cancellation of the Dec. 2 live Thoroughbred racing program at Woodbine.
The afternoon's feature race, the $150,000 Ontario Lassie Stakes for 2-year-old fillies bred in Canada, is re-scheduled for the night of Dec. 5. First-race post time is set for 6:45 p.m. EST.
Highly-regarded Short Shorts, trained and co-owned by Catherine Day Phillips, will go after her first added-money victory. She enters the Lassie off a third-place finish in the South Ocean Stakes Nov. 7.
The scheduled forecast for Dec. 5 includes cloudiness with periods of snow, but heavy precipitation is not likely.
