Jockey Richard Mullen and trainer Adi Selvaratnam partnered together to win the two 1,000 meter (five furlong) races on Friday’s Jebi Ali Card, sponsored by Shadwell, with Salaam Dubai living
up to star billings in the featured conditions race. Third in the Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen on his previous outing on Dubai World Cup Night, the Australian-bred six-year-old
was always traveling well under Mullen, and ran out a comfortable winner.
"He is a good horse, and has improved an awful lot since this time last year," said Mullen. "His Dubai World Cup night run was obviously the highlight, but hopefully there is more to come as he will have needed that."
"We know he needed the run, so I am glad that he has it under his belt," said Selvaratnam. "These horses are not easy to place so we almost had to run here."
Thirty minutes earlier the same pair had won the maiden race over the same minimum trip with Mash’Hoor.
