Session 13 of Keeneland's November mixed breeding stock saw a double-digit rise in gross, average, and median.

Session 13 of Keeneland’s November mixed breeding stock sale Nov. 17 saw a double-digit rise in gross, average, and median as the marathon sale draws closer to its end.
"It was yet another outstanding day," said Keeneland’s Director of Sales, Geoffrey Russell. "There are a lot of people still here and a lot of activity."
The gross was $2,143,900 for 202 head sold, up 73.4 percent compared to last year’s $1,236,100 for 161 head. The average of $10,613 rose 38.2 percent from last year’s $7,678, and the median was up 37 percent, $6,850 compared to $5,000 in 2006.
The session topper was Forest Image, a 4-year-old daughter of Forestry who sold for $77,000 when purchased by The Robert Dawe Agency from consignor Three Chimneys Sales Agency. Believed to be carrying her first foal after a breeding to Albert the Great , A half-sister to the grade I-winning Victory Speech, Forest Image is out of the Alydar mare Ida’s Image.
The session’s top weanling was a $67,000 bay filly by Medallist out of the Dewan mare Marianna’s Girl. The filly, consigned by Three Chimneys Sales Agency for Fair Way Equine and purchased by Whisper Hill Farm, is a half-sister to graded stakes winners Crimson Classic, Marastani, and Christine’s Outlaw, among others. The session’s leading colt was a $28,000 purchase by CCS Bloodstock – a bay colt by Woke Up Dreaminout of the In Excess mare Inexcessivelylovely. The colt was consigned by Lane’s End Sales Agency.
The session’s leading consignor was Three Chimneys, with 14 head sold for $368,900. McMahon Bloodstock was the leading buyer, purchasing four head for $102,000.
Cumulatively thus far, the record-setting sale has seen 3,098 head sell for a gross amount of $338,771,400 (up 8.3 percent) and an average price of $109,352 (up 5.7 percent). The cumulative median is $40,000. Taylor Made Sales Agency leads all consignors with 292 head sold for a total of $41,001,200 while John Ferguson is the leading cumulative buyer with six head purchased for $19,450,000.
Last year at this point, 3,022 head had sold for a gross of $312,790,200 and an average of $103,504. The median then was also $40,000.
