Breeders' Cup winner English Channel will stand for $25,000 in 2008 at Hurricane Hall near Lexington. Retired after the Oct. 27 John Deere Breeders' Cup Turf (gr. IT), English Channel is favored to win an Eclipse Award as top grass male. He won six grade I stakes in his career and earned $5,319,028 for owner Jim Scatuorchio.

"We plan to do some extraordinary things with English Channel from a bonus and incentive standpoint," said Hurricane Hall president Ben Walden Jr. "There will be an energetic commitment put forth toward the development of this horse."

English Channel (Smart Strike  --Belva, by Theatrical) will not be syndicated and will stand for Scatuorchio and Brad Kelley.

Hurricane Hall also will stand Artie Schiller for $15,000 and Bellamy Roadfor $10,000.
