Weather Warning to Windfields in Canada

Weather Warning, a stakes-winning son of Storm Cat out of a grade I winner, will enter stud in 2008 at Windfields Farm near Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. His fee is $5,000.

Bred and initially raced by the Young family's Overbrook Farm, Weather Warning set fractions in nine of his 11 races. This year, he captured the Manitoba Lotteries Derby and ran third in the Hansel Stakes.

"He is the whole picture: a stakes winner with exceptional early speed and a very correct physical type with plenty of bone and a lovely hip," said Simon Cassidy, Windfields' director of farm operations.

Weather Warning, who raced at the end of his career for Stuart Hyman's Shyman Farm, won or placed in six races and earned $128,687.

A half-brother to stakes winner Foolishly, Weather Warning is out of City Band, by Carson City, the broodmare sire of Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Barbaro.
