Churchill Downs is offering viewers across the country a televised preview of its daily racing programs on “Churchill Downs Today,” a new 30-minute show that will air during the track’s 21-day fall meet, the Louisville track announced Oct. 30.

“Churchill Downs Today” offers a view of each day’s races at the home of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) and features handicappers and industry figures. The show, which debuted Oct. 28, is hosted by John Asher, a five-time Eclipse Award winner for radio coverage of Thoroughbred racing who serves as the track’s vice president of racing communications.

The show also includes commentary from Churchill racing analyst Jill Byrne and will occasionally feature Mike Battaglia, a racing analyst for Churchill and NBC Sports.

The program is telecast live at 10:30 a.m. Eastern time each racing day of the meet on the New York City OTB cable channel (Channel 71) and on Time Warner and Cablevision systems in New York. The show also streams live on the Churchill  Web site and is televised daily at 11:30 a.m. on HRTV.

Along with analysis on all of each day’s races, “Churchill Downs Today” offers up-to-date information on track conditions, weather, and scratches and other notable changes on the day’s racing program. The program is produced by Churchill Downs Simulcast Productions.
