Grade I winner Golden Missile has arrived at Dr. Jonathan Davis' Milfer Farm near Unadilla, N.Y., where he will stand for $7,500 live foal.
A 12-year-old son of A.P. Indy, Golden Missile has 2007 progeny earnings of $2.5 million, which will place him second on New York's leading sire list. His three stakes winners this year include Cobalt Blue, who won the Select Stakes at Monmouth Park on Breeders' Cup weekend. A 3-year-old, Cobalt Blue earlier captured the San Felipe Stakes (gr. II) at Santa Anita earlier.
Golden Missile, who is out of the graded stakes-winning Cure the Blues mare Santa Catalina, has sired 15 horses that have won or placed in stakes, including grade I winner In the Gold and grade III winner Inspiring. In the Gold won the Gazelle (gr. I) and Stonerside Beaumont (gr. II) Stakes and ran second in the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I).
Golden Missile, who scored his big wins in the Pimlico Special (gr. I) and Stephen Foster (gr. II) Handicaps, has sired the career earners of $7.2 million. He stood the 2007 season at Frank Stronach's Adena Springs Kentucky near Midway.
