Trainer John Shirreffs said After Market, the second choice in the morning line for the NetJets Breeders’ Cup Mile (gr. IT), will be scratched.

There has been steady rain in the area of Monmouth Park for three days, and Shirreffs said the turf course was too soft to suit the Storm Cat colt owned by Marty and Pam Wygod.

After Market won four straight turf stakes in California before shipping east to Belmont Park for the Kelso Handicap (gr. IIT), in which he finished second to Trippi’s Storm.

Shirreffs will saddle Tiago for owners Jerry and Ann Moss in the Breeders’ Cup Classic – Powered by Dodge (gr. I).
