Wait a While was scratched from the Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT) because of a knee injury, trainer Todd Pletcher informed officials the morning of Oct. 27.
Owned by Arindel Farm, Wait a While finished fourth in last year’s Filly & Mare Turf but still won the Eclipse Award as champion turf female.
In a Breeders' Cup release, Pletcher indicated the 4-year-old Maria’s Mon filly suffered a wound to the knee.
Pletcher still has an entrant in the race in Glencrest Farm’s Honey Ryder, who ran third in the Filly & Mare Turf a year ago.
