Herman Sarkowsky's Dixie Chatter and Barry Schwartz and Ed Wachtel's Attila's Storm have been scratched from the Oct. 27 Bessemer Trust Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) and TVG Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I), respectively.

A 2-year-old son of Dixie Union trained by Richard Mandella for owner-breeder Sarkowsky, Dixie Chatter has won two of four lifetime starts, including the Norfolk Stakes (g.r. I) in his most recent effort. The colt ran a temperature Oct. 24-25, Mandella said.

"He had a little temperature last night and still this morning," Mandella said Oct. 25. "It ain't what we came here for, but we've seen this movie before. We've got to err on the side of caution."

Attila's Storm has an ankle problem, trainer Richard Schosberg said.

"He had some filling in (his left front ankle) and was a little sore this morning," Schosberg said Oct. 25. "The digital X-rays didn't show us anything. It's nothing major, but he's not 100%."

Attila's Storm would have made his third consecutive start in the Sprint this year.
