A fever has knocked Cry and Catch Me out of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr.1).

Cry and Catch Me, winner of the Oak Leaf Stakes (gr. I) at Santa Anita Park in her last start, has been scratched from the Oct. 27 Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I), Breeders’ Cup officials said Oct. 24.

Owned by Stetson Land and Cattle, Cry and Catch Me, trained by Bob Baffert, developed a fever and was scratched from the $1-million, 1 1/16-mile race. Cry and Catch Me had drawn post 13 in a 14-horse field for the Juvenile Fillies.

"She got sick, and when the temperature hit 102 (degrees), I pulled the plug," Baffert said.

The filly was receiving treatment and didn't appear to be seriously ill, the trainer said.

Cry and Catch Me, with two wins and a second in three career starts, was the 6-1 co-third choice in the morning line for the Juvenile Fillies.
