Doncaster’s two-day October Horses-In-Training Sale concluded on Tuesday with a turnover of 1,565,700 guineas, up marginally on the 2006 figure of 1,414,150 gns. The 5,592 gns average was similar to last year and the 3,000 gns median showed no change.

The top price came on Tuesday when jump trainer Steve Brookshaw paid 60,000 gns for five-year-old Carrickmines.

At the end of Tuesday’s sale, Doncaster Bloodstock Sale’s managing director Henry Beeby said: "We were very pleased to have had a steady, solid trade over the two days. Horses were making what they were worth and we were delighted to welcome buyers from home and abroad to this established and successful sale."

The two-day Doncaster October Yearling Sale begins Oct. 24.
