Darley Prices Manduro, Teofilo at 40,000 Euros Manduro, a three-time European group I winner this year, will stand his first season for €40,000 (approximately $57,000) at Darley's Kildangan Stud in Ireland. Owned by Sheikh Mohammed, Darley also priced other newcomer Teofilo at €40,000 at Kildangan. A French champion at 4 last year, Manduro (Monsun--Mandellicht, by Be My Guest) scored group I wins in this year's Prince of Wales's Stakes in England and the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard-Jacques le Marois and Prix d'Ispahan, both in France. Teofilo (Galileo--Speirbhean, by Danehill) was a Cartier Award winner at 2 in 2006, but did not race this year. Darley has priced 2007 Vodafone Epsom Derby (Eng-I) winner Authorized at £25,000 pounds (about $35,000) for his first season. He will stand at Dalham Hall Stud near Newmarket, England. Authorized is by Montjeu out of Funsie, by Saumarez. For their second breeding seasons, in 2009, Manduro and Authorized will switch locations. John Ferguson, Sheikh Mohammed's bloodstock advisor, said, "Sheikh Mohammed's long term goal is to stand the world's best stallions, and is well aware that great sires emerge from a healthy breeding industry. Our prices give breeders with quality mares the chance to produce top class horses at reduced cost, and breeders planning for the yearling market of 2010 can do so with increased confidence. I'm absolutely certain that our proven stallions stand at a fraction of their value, and that our high-profile young horses could hold their own at far higher fees. But Sheikh Mohammed is determined that breeders who use Darley stallions get the better of the deal." Following are fees for all Darley's European stallions: United Kingdom Green Desert £40,000 Ireland Cape Cross €50,000 France Sulamani €8,000
