Le Miracle Turns Tables on Yeats in Marathon

Le Miracle took the lead after one mile in the marathon Prix du Cadran Casino-Theatre Barriere (Fr-I) Oct. 7 at Longchamp and was able to hold off Varevees to win by a head.

Owned by Rennstall Gestut Hachtsee and bred in Germany by Brigitte Grafin von Norman, Le Miracle won the 2 1/2-mile event in 4:29.80 on turf rated good to soft with Dominque Boeuf in the saddle.  Yeats finished third, about three lengths behind the winner.

Le Miracle , trained by Wern Baltromei, earlier this year finished third behind the victorious Yeats in the Ascot Gold Cup (Eng-I) at the same 2 1/2-mile distance.

Le Miracle, a 6-year-old gelding, is by Monsun out of the Kendor mare L’Heure Bleue.
