The information session on late-term abortions and early fetal loss conducted at the Keeneland sales pavilion Thursday will be available online at Keeneland's web site, www.keeneland.com, for the next 48 hours. In addition, Keeneland announced at the meeting that it will have a videotape of the session available early next week.
The two-hour meeting featured a dozen veterinarian experts who addressed an overflow crowd on various aspects of the crisis that has hit Central Kentucky in the last two weeks. In addition to the major network affiliates in Lexington that broadcast live remotes from the sales pavilion during the session, the three national networks, ABC, CBS, and NBC, along with CNN, reported on the area's loss of foals on their national evening news reports. Louisville's WLKY was also live on the scene. The crisis was a page one story in Thursday's edition of the
New York Times.
