Lawman, this year's group I French Derby winner, has been retired from racing because of an infection and will enter stud at Ballylinch Stud in Ireland. The farm bought the French-bred son of Invincible Spirit from Claudio Marzocco and Ernesto Ciampi.

Racing in Marzocco's name, Lawman won the French Derby (Prix du Jockey-Club Mitsubishi Motors) directly after winning the Prix de Guiche (Fr-III) and before taking the Prix Jean Prat (Fr-I). A winner at 2, he retired with four wins from seven races and earnings of $1,550,210.

Bred by Petra Bloodstock Agency, Lawman is a half-brother to French champion Latice and French group winner Satri. His dam, Laramie, is by Gulch.
