Karen's Caper, a graded/group winner for Robert and Janice McNair's Stonerside Stable, has been retired from racing. The homebred daughter of War Chant   will join her graded stakes-winning dam, Miss Caerleona (by Caerleon), in the farm’s broodmare band at Stonerside near Paris, Ky.

Karen's Caper initially raced in England, where she won the 2005 Shadwell Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes (Eng-III) and ran second in that year's Coronation Stakes (Eng-I).

Returned to the U.S. in the fall of that year, Karen's Caper won two graded stakes. She captured the Eatontown Stakes (gr. IIIT) in course-record time of 1:39.48 at Monmouth Park and the Noble Damsel Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. IIIT) at Belmont Park. At Keeneland, in the Queen Elizabeth Challenge Cup (gr. IT) and First Lady (gr. IIT) Stakes, she was beaten a nose. She also ran second in the Ballston Spa Handicap (gr. IIT) at Saratoga.

A 5-year-old, Karen's Caper retired with four wins from 14 races and earnings of $622,113. She is a half-sister to grade II winner Miss Coronado. Breeding plans will be determined later.
