Tasha's Miracle, Sorrento Stakes (gr. III) winner and likely favorite for the $250,000 Del Mar Debutante (gr. I) Sept. 3, was withdrawn from the race Sunday morning by trainer John Sadler.
"She tied up a little yesterday (Sept. 1) after training," the disappointed trainer said. Sadler said the 2-year-old filly now would be pointed toward the $250,000 Oak Leaf (gr. I) at 1 1/16 miles at Santa Anita's Oak Tree meet on the new Cushion Track. The race will be run Sept. 29.
The ultimate goal continues to be a run in the $2-million Grey Goose Vodka Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) at Monmouth Park Oct. 27, Sadler said.
The defection of Tasha's Miracle leaves the Debutante field at 13.
