Finocchio, a stakes-placed son of Tap Shoes, was euthanized Aug. 27 at D&R Racing Stables near Pinckney, Mich., because of the infirmities of old age. Owned by David Belknap, he was 23.

Finocchio, who was Belknap's first horse, won 15 of 46 races, placed in four stakes, and earned $114,514 for Belknap and earlier owners. As a stallion, Finocchio sired 11 foals, seven of which won. He was produced from the Drone mare By Law.
