Grade I winner Startac has been purchased by a syndicate to stand at Westbury Stud in Pinjarra, West Australia.

A 9-year-old son of Theatrical, Startac won the 2001 Secretariat Stakes (gr. IT), plus the 2002 Belmont Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II) over subsequent Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) winner Volponi. Startac also won two other stakes and placed in four more. He retired with five wins from 19 races and earnings of $703,718.

Startac is out of the stakes-winning Mr. Prospector mare Tenga, who is a half-sister to grade II winner Jade Flush. Second dam Royal Strait Flush is a full sister to champion Landaluce.

The deal was brokered by Schumer Bloodstock and Donato Lanni of Hill 'n' Dale Bloodstock.
