Behrens, a multiple grade I winner who earned $4.5 million, will stand at Ellen Jackson's Victory Rose Farm near Vacaville, Calif., under a year-by-year lease arrangement. The 13-year-old son of Pleasant Colony stood his previous seven seasons at Darby Dan Farm (John Phillips, co-managing partner) near Lexington.
Behrens won seven graded stakes, including the Oaklawn Handicap (gr. I) and two consecutive runnings of the Gulfstream Park Handicap (gr. I). He registered the co-highest Beyer Speed Figure, a 118, for a 3-year-old of 1997 at a mile or more in winning the Buick Pegasus Handicap (gr. II) over Anet, Frisk Me Now, and Touch Gold . His 11 stakes-placings included a runner-up finish to Dubai Millennium in the 2000 Dubai World Cup (UAE-I).
As a stallion, Behrens has sired 52 winners, including stakes-placed Sueno Del Mar. His dam, Hot Novel (by Mari's Book), was a multiple graded stakes winner.
Behrens' 2007 fee was $5,000.
