Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner Rags to Riches shipped from Belmont Park to Saratoga Race Course July 31 and has galloped over the upstate New York racing surface the past two mornings. Trainer Todd Pletcher said the 3-year-old filly would continue to gallop this week.

“I don’t know when I’m going to breeze her,” he said Aug. 2. “But she has galloping beautifully over the track so far.”

Rags to Riches has not raced since her historic Belmont Stakes (gr. I) win, in which she became the first filly to win the classic in 102 years. She missed two scheduled workouts, one because of a slight fever July 16, the other July 22 after she was pulled up at the start of a five-furlong breeze.

She was shipped to the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine at New Bolton Center for precautionary X-rays, but returned to training this week after a brief layoff.

Pletcher said the daughter of A.P. Indy should still be considered a possible starter for the Aug. 18 Alabama Stakes (gr. I) at Saratoga.
