Rail Link, winner of last year's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe Lucien Barriere (Fr-I), has been retired from racing. The homebred colt, campaigned by Juddmonte Farms' owner Khalid Abdullah, hadn't started since the Arc.

Bred in the Juddmonte name, Rail Link also won three other stakes last year, including the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris (Fr-I), and was a French champion at 11 to 14 furlongs.

In the Arc, a technical problem led to the wrong time being recorded. Rail Link's initial time, 2:31.70, for the 12 furlongs was changed to 2:26.30, making it the fourth-fastest on record.

No decision has been reached as to where Rail Link will enter stud, but there is a good possibility he will stand alongside his sire, Dansili, at Banstead Manor Stud, a division of Juddmonte, near Newmarket, England. The farm recently suffered the loss of major stallion Rainbow Quest.

Rail Link, who retired with five wins from seven starts and earnings of $1,976,387, is out of the Theatricalmare Docklands.
