Three Track Records at Churchill Saturday

Gary Stevens rode Mike Pegram's Love at Noon to a track record in the first race on Churchill Down's Kentucky Derby card.
It is getting to be expected at Churchill Downs on Saturday. Three track records set during the first four races on the Kentuckky Derby card. In fact, in the fourth race, the Three Chimneys Juvenile, two horses set a track record--City Street and Open Story dead-heated.
In the five-furlong Three Chimneys, the two juvenile colts hit the wire together in :57.28. The fractions were :21.28 for the opening quarter and :44.50 for the half. Storm Witch finished third.
Track records were set for 6 1/2 and seven furlongs in the first and third races on the Derby Day card.
City Street, half of the heavily favored entry of owner Tom Durant and trainer Ronny Werner (with Runaway Choice), paid $2.20, $2.40 and $2.10. He was ridden by Robby Albarado. Open Story, under Pat Day, paid $4, $4, and $2.40. Storm Witch returned $2.60.
City Street is by Carson City--Starz, by Danzatore and Open Story is by Open Forum out of the Diablo mare Diablo's Story.
