Jockey Leroy Nelson was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood on Friday afternoon after being unseated from his mount, No Pussycat, in the second race at Calder.

At the start of the 1 1/16 mile-turf race, No Pussycat broke awkwardly out of the gate and Nelson was bounced off.

He briefly held on to his mount and the filly to his inside, Big Time Winner, before falling to the ground.

None of the horses were hurt in the incident, but Nelson complained of shoulder pain afterwards and was transported to the hospital.
