Rags to Riches appeared to be sound and in good condition after being examined by Dr. Steve Allday July 23 at Belmont Park.
 
The daughter of A.P. Indy out of the Deputy Minister mare Better Than Honour was pulled up on the track July 22 at the start of a five-furlong workout when exercise rider Lauren Robson felt that something wasn’t right.  “We’re not sure if she stepped on something or she stumbled but she seemed fine afterwards,” said trainer Todd Pletcher.
 
Under Dr. Allday’s recommendation, the filly will be sent to New Bolton for a complete physical.  “Although everything seems to be fine, in order to be thorough she will have a complete physical done," said Pletcher.  “Though her race plans will be made after the exam, she remains under consideration for the (grade I) Alabama at Saratoga August 18.”
 
Rags to Riches, who was withdrawn from consideration for the Coaching Club American Oaks (gr. I) July 21 after spiking a fever, was the first filly to win the Belmont Stakes (gr. I) in 102 years. 

She has five wins from five starts in 2007, including the Kentucky (gr. I), and Santa Anita (gr. I) Oaks.
