As expected, Raging Fever was scratched Friday morning from the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) at Churchill Downs.

Trainer Mark Hennig had said all along that she was entered as an insurance policy in case something happened to his other entrant, Tap Dance. Both fillies are owned and were bred by Edward Evans.

Raging Fever's scratch leaves a field of 12 3-year-old fillies to run in the $500,000 Oaks. The favorite is Ashland Stakes (gr. I) winner Fleet Renee.

The weather is beautiful in Louisville, Ky., with a few clouds and temperatures headed to the mid 80s.
