New York State-based Questroyal Stud has acquired the breeding rights in William S. Farish's homebred stakes winner Patriot Act.
A 5-year-old son of A.P. Indy, Patriot Act is enjoying his best season this year, winning the Jim Rasmussen Memorial Stakes and placing in the New Orleans (gr. II), Prairie Meadows Cornhusker (gr. II), Mineshaft (gr. III), and Louisiana Breeders' Cup Handicaps. As a 2-year-old, he ran second in the Lane's End Breeders' Futurity (gr. I). From 19 career starts, Patriot Act has won or placed in 15 of them.
Patriot Act is one of eight stakes winners descending from his graded stakes-winning dam, Classic Value (by Copelan). They include graded winners Gradepoint (by A.P. Indy), Don’t Get Mad, Gulch Approval, and Class Kris.
Farish, who stands A.P. Indy at his Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky., will continue to race Patriot Act through Oct. 31.
Questroyal has projected Patriot Act's fee to be $6,000 and has issued contracts at that amount, subject to upward adjustments upon Patriot Act's final career performance. Patriot Act will stand at Libery Stud near Ghent, N.Y.
